Their impact has shown that with passion, family and motivation; a difference can be made in each of our communities.
Thirst Project
The Thirst Project is the largest youth-led organization in the world and they believe that students are THE most powerful agents for social change in the world! The Thirst Projects mission is simple: Build a socially-conscious generation of young people who will END the global water crisis.
The Thirst Project provides a community with safe drinking water, by building wells in developing countries, for example, Swaziland! No other group activates as students do. Students become educated and are motivated to make a change!
Our Purpose
The purpose of the walk for water is to gather the community of Downey, as well as other communities. The Division's goal is to raise $12,000 to build a well in a developing country with the help of the Thirst Project! Not only is the goal to raise money but raise awareness of the water crisis. Water is taken for granted so easily that it's neglected, the fact that there are people in the world that would do anything just to have unsanitary water is heart-wrenching. As awareness is built, people are able to become educated about the water crisis and the Thirst Project. When our youth becomes educated, change will happen. Change is the goal!
